Israir Launches New York-Tel Aviv Route With Inaugural Full Flight

Israir's inaugural flight from New York to Tel Aviv landed in Israel this morning, completing the journey from JFK Airport in under 10 hours. The flight, which departed yesterday afternoon from Terminal 8 at JFK with a full passenger load, marks the successful launch of Israir's new route between Tel Aviv and New York.

Due to high demand and the successful completion of the first flight, Israir, controlled by businessman Rami Levy, will increase its flight frequency on this route to three times weekly starting next week. The airline is also preparing for the upcoming summer season, with its summer flight schedule for New York set to go on sale on October 12, Columbus Day.

Captain Yaron Mofaz described the flight as a "historic and exciting moment," noting that the JFK to Ben Gurion Airport flight took just 9 hours and 45 minutes. He stated, "After a year and a half of preparing crews and acquiring aircraft, we have proven that with determination and a bit of audacity, even a small star can shine brightly and reach North America and the East."

Israir released a statement calling the landing "an exciting and significant moment," expressing pleasure at the demand for the route from its inception. The airline emphasized New York's importance as a destination for Israelis and its intention to establish a competitive and convenient option for direct flights between Israel and the United States.
