Hapoel Lev Jerusalem Dominates Maccabi Karmiel in Season Opener
The 2026-27 Israeli Women's Basketball season officially commenced with Hapoel Lev Jerusalem decisively defeating Maccabi Karmiel Beit HaKerem 90-66 in the opening match of the Athena Winner tournament. The game, held on Thursday evening, saw the Jerusalem team establish dominance from the first quarter, leading 24-11 after ten minutes and extending their advantage to 29 points by halftime. Jerusalem further widened the gap in the third quarter with a 31-11 run, reaching a score of 82-39. Despite Jerusalem's strong performance, Karmiel managed to score in the final minutes to achieve a more respectable final score.
