Israel and Kuwait are reportedly engaged in quiet discussions regarding regional cooperation, operating away from public attention, according to a source familiar with the matter cited by Kan News on Thursday. These talks are taking place against the backdrop of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait.

A former Kuwaiti minister told Kan News that such cooperation would be mutually beneficial, describing it as a "win-win" scenario for Gulf states to collaborate with Israel. He stated that the primary concern for Gulf nations is to curb shared adversaries and maintain regional security and stability. The former minister emphasized that the identity of the enemy is clear, pointing to Iran's ongoing attacks against Gulf states while Israel actively targets and dismantles Iranian military capabilities that could threaten its neighbors.

This report follows recent remarks by Israel's Ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, who suggested in an interview with Kan Reshet Bet that another country is expected to join the Abraham Accords within months. Shelley hinted that Kuwait might be the next nation to normalize relations with Israel. These comments from Shelley, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have generated significant attention in Kuwait, a country that outwardly maintains a hostile stance towards Israel.
