Journalist Cuts Off MK Tally Gotliv Mid-Interview, Calling Her 'Delusional'

Journalist Sivan Cohen abruptly ended an interview with Knesset Member Tally Gotliv on Thursday, accusing the lawmaker of being disconnected and delusional. Cohen, a commentator for Channel 12 and a radio host for 103FM, was interviewing Gotliv, who is affiliated with the Otzma Yehudit party led by Itamar Ben-Gvir.

During the exchange, Cohen became visibly frustrated, repeatedly interrupting Gotliv and demanding she answer questions directly instead of delivering monologues. Cohen specifically criticized Gotliv for her response to a question about a senior female Shin Bet official whose daughter was killed on October 7th. Cohen accused Gotliv of being insensitive and detached from the suffering of victims, stating, "You are disconnected and delusional. It's delusional that you are number 2 in a party that is going to get 8 or maybe 10 mandates."

Gotliv, however, did not back down, accusing Cohen of lacking courage and failing to seek the truth. She asserted that the listeners, not Cohen, were the focus and that they had read the Shin Bet's investigation. Cohen then stated that if Gotliv intended to spread conspiracies, she should leave the program, adding, "There are enough platforms."

Gotliv retorted that Cohen should speak to her with respect and that she was not spreading conspiracies, demanding the right to respond. Cohen responded forcefully, expressing that few things could upset her, but disrespecting those who suffered on October 7th was one of them. She concluded by telling Gotliv, "Shame on you."

Cohen then addressed the program's producer, requesting Gotliv be removed from the broadcast. She apologized to the listeners, stating there were limits and that politicians' detachment and their continued propagation of "delusional conspiracies" were unacceptable, even those denied by the Prime Minister. Cohen expressed her shame and disgrace at the situation.
