Israel's State Companies Authority Probes Chairman's Resume

Israel's Government Companies Authority has demanded that Idan David, chairman of Ayalon Highways, respond by September 22 to allegations concerning the accuracy of his professional experience as presented in his resume. In a letter sent to David, Roee Kahalon, director of the authority, stated, "A concern arises that you provided inaccurate details to the committee and the authority, upon which the committee based its approval of your appointment. We request that all information provided, or signed by you, be accompanied by a sworn affidavit confirming its accuracy, signed by a lawyer."

The allegations, first reported by Channel 12's "HaMevaker" investigative program, claim David "gussied up" his resume and exaggerated his managerial experience. The letter noted that these claims were previously raised with David about a week prior, but no response has been received to date.

David was appointed to his current role in July of the previous year. He was nominated by Minister David Amsalem, who oversees government companies, for the board of Ayalon Highways. His most recent position was as CEO of the Ashkelon Municipality under Mayor Tomer Glam, a role he held for three years before resigning months before the last municipal elections.

Ayalon Highways is responsible for an annual budget of approximately NIS 3 billion and oversees infrastructure development in metropolitan areas, the construction of highways, development programs in the Arab sector, and innovation in transportation projects. The authority warned that if it is proven that false information was submitted, it could serve as grounds for disqualifying the candidate and, in appropriate cases, could lead to criminal proceedings.
