Top Rabbis to Convene for Yom Kippur Curse Removal Ceremony

In a unique ceremony preceding Yom Kippur, three prominent rabbinic leaders will gather to perform a ritual of curse removal. The event, hosted by Rabbi Baruch Dov Povarsky at his home, will also include Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Berman and Rabbi A. Gerboz. They will be joined by seven other scholars to annul curses, excommunications, and other afflictions.

This tradition, rooted in Jewish custom, involves reciting the 'Kol Nidre' prayer to annul vows. The added practice of curse removal, attributed to Rabbi Chida centuries ago, aims to release individuals from negative influences that hinder their success and development. This includes curses stemming from disrespect to parents, the evil eye, witchcraft, and other harmful forces.

The ceremony will involve a quorum of ten men, invoking divine judgment to nullify these afflictions. Participants who donate to the 'Kupat Ha'ir' fund will have their names included in the ritual. Those donating 333 shekels will have their names submitted for the curse removal and removal of grievances ceremony, which takes place after midday on Yom Kippur.

Following the ceremony, the participating rabbis will sign a "Curse Removal Document" for donors, certifying the annulment of curses, grievances, and anger, rendering them void. Donors contributing 88 shekels for 36 months will also receive this signed document.
