Shin Bet Chief Vows No Forgiveness for October 7 Attackers

At a ceremony honoring 18 outstanding Shin Bet employees, Director David Barnea delivered a stern message to the planners and perpetrators of the October 7th Hamas attacks, stating, "There is no forgiveness and no expiration date." He vowed that the long and determined arm of Israeli security would reach all those involved, wherever they may be.

President Isaac Herzog, presenting the awards at the President's Residence, urged the honorees to "think differently" and challenge existing perceptions. He described the recipients as "the best of the best" in the organization and society, emphasizing the importance of diverse opinions in decision-making.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also addressed the event, highlighting the Shin Bet's counter-terrorism efforts in the West Bank. He reported that "a thousand eliminations" had been carried out, which he equated to "a thousand attempts to murder our people." Netanyahu reiterated Israel's commitment to pursuing all those involved in the October 7th massacre, stating, "No one is immune, we will reach all of you."

The Shin Bet Director's remarks underscored the agency's unwavering resolve to bring to justice everyone who harmed Israel, whether in tunnels, hidden command centers, or anywhere else globally, calling it a "sacred duty to the nation and humanity."

The award recipients included veteran and younger staff from various departments, such as intelligence, cyber, investigations, security, and special operations, recognized for their exceptional contributions.
