Religious Zionists Represent Majority of Shin Bet Awardees

Nine out of sixteen Shin Bet (General Security Service) outstanding service awardees wore kippot, representing 56% of the honorees, according to an observation made during a ceremony at the President's Residence in Jerusalem. The event was attended by President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Shin Bet Director David Zini.

Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the ceremony, highlighting the Shin Bet's successes, particularly in Judea and Samaria, where he stated there were "a thousand foiled attempts to murder our people." He emphasized the "phenomenal successes" achieved through cooperation with the IDF and other security branches. Regarding Gaza, Netanyahu asserted that despite expectations, Hamas is not being protected but rather is being "dealt with."

Netanyahu also spoke about ongoing efforts to bring to account those responsible for the October 7th attacks, stating, "We are settling the score with these murderers who murdered our people... and we are settling the score with those who remain, and not many remain because we are dealing with them." He reiterated the message to terrorists that "no one is immune, we will reach all of you."

The Prime Minister further discussed the broader regional threat, noting that while Iran and its proxies' desire to destroy Israel has not disappeared, their capability has been significantly weakened. He pledged to complete the mission of dismantling Hamas and overthrowing the Iranian regime, as well as dealing with Hezbollah. Netanyahu praised the Shin Bet's excellence, particularly in technological advancements, and commended Director Zini for leading a strong, committed, and successful force.
