Gadi Eisenkot Rejects Rotation Government Model

Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the "Yisrael Beiteinu" party, has declared his opposition to the rotation government model, which has been a feature of Israeli politics in recent years. In an interview with Kan Reshet Bet, Eisenkot stated that this system should be removed from public discourse, emphasizing that rotation is not on the table for his party.

Eisenkot articulated his principled opposition to the concept of an alternate prime minister, stating, "I am opposed to all this patent of an alternate prime minister. I am opposed to rotation. A prime minister should be elected for four years so that he can implement plans and advance internal and regional moves." He reiterated his strong criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the country's leadership regarding the events of October 7th, asserting that "Netanyahu, like all cabinet members on October 7th, is not worthy of leadership."

However, Eisenkot stressed that his stance on Netanyahu is separate from his fundamental objection to rotation governments. "Regarding rotation, I am resolutely opposed to a rotation government and to all the tricks and dodges that have accompanied us in recent years," he said.
