Tel Aviv Prepares for Major Basketball Game With Street Closures and Security

Israeli police have finalized their preparations for a major basketball game scheduled for this evening, Thursday, at 8:55 PM at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv. Hundreds of officers from the Tel Aviv district, along with ushers and security guards, will be deployed in the arena area starting this afternoon to maintain order and security, protect attendees, and manage traffic.

The arena gates are set to open at 7:15 PM, with thorough security checks planned for all attendees to ensure public safety. The public is advised to arrive early to avoid congestion at the entrances due to these strict checks.

Traffic disruptions will begin at 5:30 PM with the closure of Wingate Street. Drivers are urged to park only in designated areas, as enforcement against illegal parking will be increased. Plainclothes and uniformed officers will be present around the arena to prevent ticket scalping, which is a criminal offense.

Bringing cheering equipment requires prior approval from both the police and the fire department. The entry of flares and other pyrotechnic devices is strictly prohibited due to the life-threatening danger they pose in an enclosed space. Moving between gates or disobeying instructions from police or ushers is a violation of the law.

Police are appealing to fans to comply with instructions, refrain from physical or verbal violence, and uphold the law and public order before, during, and after the game. The possession of weapons is forbidden, and there is no option to store them at the entrance. Alcohol will not be permitted inside the venue, nor will individuals under the influence of alcohol be allowed entry.
