Businessman Eyal Waldman Warns of Dire Consequences if Netanyahu Wins

Business magnate Eyal Waldman has launched a strong criticism against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning of severe repercussions should Netanyahu win the upcoming elections. Waldman publicly endorsed Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, stating, "If Bibi wins the elections, Israel will, in my opinion, be in serious trouble: without a properly functioning police force and without a Supreme Court." He further cautioned that Israel might cease to be a democracy, leading to an increased "brain drain" of talented individuals, while less capable people would remain out of necessity, causing economic decline.

Waldman also addressed pressing issues within Israeli society, emphasizing the need for fundamental political change. He expressed concern over the long-term situation involving certain settlers in the territories and the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community, suggesting that a different government is the solution. "I hope Eisenkot wins the elections, and then everything will be different," he stated.

Waldman, who lost his daughter Daniel and her partner Noam Barak in the Nova music festival massacre on October 7th, also touched upon the possibility of entering politics. He revealed that several parties have approached him about joining their ranks, but explicitly excluded offers from Netanyahu's Likud, and parties led by Bezalel Smotrich, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Moshe Gafni, and Shas. Waldman indicated he would consider entering politics only if he believed it was the last resort to save the country.
