Air Canada Suspends Flight Attendant Over Alleged Antisemitic Posts

Air Canada has temporarily removed a flight attendant from duty following the discovery of alleged antisemitic posts attributed to him, the National Post reported Wednesday. Company spokesperson Sean Davidson confirmed that a full investigation has been launched. Air Canada did not specify whether the employee would continue to receive pay during the investigation.

A Facebook account bearing the employee's name reportedly contained numerous posts related to the Gaza war. One post allegedly compared Zionism to Nazism and accused Jews of provoking an "Holocaust" against Palestinians. Other messages reportedly promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories about supposed Jewish control of the media and accused Jews of using a "victim card."

The employee told the National Post that he could not comment on the matter at this time. The union representing Air Canada's staff stated it is in contact with the employee and will provide representation during the investigation. Air Canada reiterated its condemnation of "hate speech and the promotion of violence in all its forms."

This incident occurs as the airline plans to resume flights to Israel on November 30, after suspending them in March due to the security situation in the Middle East.
