Jerusalem Police Continue Search for Missing Elderly Woman, Family Criticizes Response

Jerusalem police and border guards, alongside hundreds of volunteers, are continuing an extensive search for Fatima Al-Rajabi, a 61-year-old Jerusalem resident who has been missing since last Sunday. The search operations involve ground sweeps and following up on any leads that might help locate her. Commander of the Jerusalem District, Major General Avshalom Peled, held a special situation assessment to review the ongoing efforts and resources allocated to the mission.

The family of Al-Rajabi has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the pace of the official response, stating that the search began too late and raising concerns for her safety as time passes. Her son specifically criticized the police performance, calling for expanded efforts and the involvement of additional agencies, including the Shin Bet security agency, to help uncover the circumstances of her disappearance. He suggested that the response would have been faster if the missing person were Jewish.

Despite the family's criticism, police have reiterated their commitment to the search, emphasizing the allocation of necessary resources and the pursuit of all possible avenues.
