The IDF said on Saturday that Hezbollah fired more than 50 rockets at Israeli army forces overnight, calling it a violation of the ceasefire agreement. The military said it would not accept harm to civilians or its troops and would respond “with force.”
In response to what it described as “blatant violations” by Hezbollah, the IDF said it struck dozens of Hezbollah terror sites and operatives in southern Lebanon during the night. The targets included rocket launch positions, weapons depots and command posts. The army added that it remains committed to the ceasefire, in line with the political leadership’s instructions, while continuing to remove threats to Israel and its forces.
At the same time, the army said that more than 400 Hezbollah militants have been killed by Northern Command so far. The IDF chief, speaking at Northern Command, also said that the impact of the strike on and weakening of Iran’s “radical regime” is being felt in the campaign against Hezbollah as well.
The Lebanese Army later said one of its soldiers was killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon. It said an airstrike in the village of Roman in Nabatieh province killed the soldier and accused Israel of trying to block any solution that would restore stability to the country.
