Or Yehuda Municipality Engages Residents on New Neighborhood Development

The Or Yehuda Municipality recently held a special public meeting with dozens of residents from the new Neve Ilan neighborhood, which is currently in advanced stages of occupancy. The meeting took place at the new Saadia Gaon State Religious School within the neighborhood and focused on open dialogue between city officials and residents.

Mayor Liath Shohat, along with the city manager and department heads, presented the current municipal situation and future development plans for the neighborhood and its surroundings. Discussions included the progress of the OPARK employment and commercial complex, spanning approximately one million square meters, as well as initiatives for parks, green spaces, enhanced sanitation services, public transportation, and future mass transit connections. The establishment of Israel's largest educational campus, with the Saadia Gaon school as its first component, was also highlighted.

Mayor Shohat described Neve Ilan as a modern, high-quality neighborhood in a central location within the Gush Dan region. She acknowledged the natural challenges of establishing and populating a new neighborhood but affirmed the municipality's commitment to its success, emphasizing that professional staff are attentive to residents' needs to ensure a positive living experience.

A question-and-answer session allowed residents to voice requests and suggestions, receiving detailed responses. A community center booth was also present to identify residents' needs and leisure preferences for tailored classes and activities. The meeting concluded with a festive atmosphere, including a shofar blast and a toast for the new year.

The municipality stated that this meeting is part of its service philosophy and ongoing commitment to resident engagement, with similar meetings planned for the future.
