Xiaomi has launched the new Xiaomi 17T Pro in Israel, positioning it as a competitively priced premium-style phone aimed at the midrange market. The review says the device largely resembles the previous generation, but its biggest selling points are a major battery upgrade, a strong camera package co-developed with Leica, and a bundled fast charger.
The phone uses a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 27% increase over the prior model and well above the common 5,000 mAh standard in smartphones. Xiaomi says light users may get nearly two days of use, while heavier users can still rely on 100W wired fast charging, which restores the battery in about an hour. Unlike many rivals, Xiaomi also includes the charger and power brick in the box.
Photography is led by a triple rear system with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, plus a 32-megapixel front camera. The main camera performed very well in daylight and difficult lighting, and the telephoto lens delivered sharp close-ups, but the ultrawide camera was clearly weaker, especially at the frame edges.
The handset keeps a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. Xiaomi also added a 3D cooling system to keep temperatures stable under heavy use and gaming. The phone comes with an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 7i on front and back, and IP68 water and dust resistance. In Israel, the 512GB version costs 3,049 shekels and the 1TB model costs 3,499 shekels, below many flagship phones that exceed 4,000 shekels and can reach 5,000 shekels for similar storage.
