Israeli Public Transport Companies Fined Over $50 Million in 2025-2026

Public transportation companies in Israel incurred fines exceeding 184 million shekels (approximately $50 million) in 2025 due to various violations related to bus service operations. This trend continued into the early months of 2026, with companies paying tens of millions of shekels more in penalties.

According to data reported by TheMarker, bus companies were fined a total of over 184 million shekels by the Ministry of Transportation in 2025. The company "Tnuufa" led the list, receiving 35.4 million shekels in fines from the National Public Transport Authority. "Metropolin" followed in second place with 32.3 million shekels, and "Dan" was third, fined 29 million shekels.

Fines against public transport operators persisted in 2026, partly due to service delays and disruptions. From January to May of 2026, these companies paid over 62.7 million shekels in fines, according to Ministry of Transportation data. "Tnuufa" again topped the list, accumulating over 19 million shekels in fines within the first five months of the year. "Extra Jerusalem" ranked second with over 8.7 million shekels, followed by "Metropolin" (6.7 million shekels), "Kavim" (4.6 million shekels), and "Dan" (4.5 million shekels).

The data highlights a substantial amount of fines imposed on public transport operators within a relatively short period, with "Tnuufa" consistently receiving the largest penalties in both 2025 and early 2026.
