Israel Accuses UN of Anti-Israel Narrative Ahead of General Assembly

Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism has launched a new international campaign and website exposing what it calls a "clear anti-Israel narrative" propagated by the United Nations since the October 7th Hamas attacks. The campaign, timed to coincide with the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York, aims to reveal the UN's alleged "information manipulation mechanism" against Israel.

The new website compiles UN publications and actions since October 7th, detailing alleged information manipulation, a hostile organizational culture, and false data regarding "genocide in Gaza." It highlights how UN entities allegedly distort information, create statistical distortions, omit crucial context, and adopt professional definitions to pre-determined conclusions, particularly concerning "starvation" and "genocide."

The campaign also features testimonies from senior UN officials and experts who claim to have faced pressure and harassment to promote an anti-Israel narrative. One WHO representative stated, "The terms 'genocide' and 'famine' were thrown around from the start. The crimes were defined beforehand, and then the organizations tried to prove them." The UN's Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, reportedly said she was "harassed and bothered day after day" with a focus on Israel not seen in other conflicts, leading to a loss of the UN's purpose.

Further allegations include evidence of Hamas infiltration into UNRWA, with intelligence suggesting at least 12% of UNRWA staff in Gaza are Hamas operatives and that terror infrastructure was found beneath its headquarters. The website also examines the "manufacturing of a genocide narrative" and a "self-reinforcing ecosystem" where claims are laundered through UN agencies, stripped of their original sources, and presented as verified UN facts.

The campaign targets journalists, diplomats, and decision-makers, urging them to examine the sources presented on the website. The Ministry asserts that the UN's presentation of data on the situation in Gaza is far from reality on the ground and that a deliberate system has been built to amplify false messages.
