Former MK Esterina Tartman Dies at 68 After Illness
Former Knesset member Esterina Tartman passed away Wednesday at the age of 68, following a recent illness. Tartman, who served in the Knesset for the Yisrael Beiteinu party from 2006 to 2009, had recently been a panelist on Channel 14.
Channel 14 anchor Dana Varon was among those who mourned Tartman, describing her as "a strong, powerful, spiritual woman, with a good eye, and so pleasant and beloved." Varon added, "We will miss you Esterina. May your memory be blessed."
Tartman was also known for her public service as the reserve officer of the Benjamin Regional Council and Givat Ze'ev. She had previously battled and recovered from cancer in the mid-1990s. In 1997, she was seriously injured in a car accident, which left her bedridden for about a year.
Yisrael Beiteinu chairman MK Avigdor Lieberman also eulogized Tartman on social media, stating he received the news of her "untimely passing" with great sorrow. Lieberman noted that Tartman "dedicated many years to public service and to the State of Israel, acting with dedication and determination," and extended condolences to her family and loved ones.
