Channel 14 Mourns Former MK Esterina Tartman After Cancer Battle

Esterina Tartman, a former Knesset member and a panelist on Channel 14, has passed away at the age of 68 after a recent illness. Her passing was announced on Wednesday.

Ido Tauber, host of "Yoman HaTzohorayim" (The Afternoon Journal) on Channel 14, paid tribute to Tartman during a broadcast, stating she brought a "special voice" to the panel with her political experience from the Knesset, unique insights, and life wisdom. He noted her struggle with illness.

Tartman, who served in the 16th and 17th Knessets for the Yisrael Beiteinu party, was known for her hardline stance against terrorism and her opposition to what she termed "weakness" and "capitulation" towards Palestinians. She previously expressed concerns about the demographic threat posed by Arab citizens of Israel and criticized the appointment of Raleb Majadle as a minister in the 31st government.

Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, expressed his sorrow over Tartman's death, remembering her dedication to public service and her determined work for Israel. He offered condolences to her family and loved ones.

Tartman was scheduled to be laid to rest on Wednesday at 4:00 PM at the Har HaMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem. Channel 14's editorial staff extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
