Vizhnitz Rebbe Discharged From Hadassah Hospital After Heart Procedure
The Vizhnitz Rebbe has been released from Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem following a successful heart procedure. The Rebbe underwent a successful pacemaker implantation surgery on Wednesday morning, performed by Professor David Lurie, head of the cardiac arrhythmia and pacemaker unit.
Thousands of Hasidim worldwide gathered to pray for the Rebbe's recovery during the procedure. Prayers were held in various locations, including Bnei Brak, the Western Wall, Meron, and even at the tomb of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk in Poland.
Just the evening before the surgery, the Rebbe had attended and officiated at the engagement celebration of his granddaughter. The granddaughter is the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, the head of the Vizhnitz rabbinical court in Elad, and the groom is the grandson of Rabbi Eliezer Ernster, rabbi of Kiryat Maoz Chaim in Tzfat, and Rabbi Chaim Halperin, rabbi of the 'Divrei Chaim' community in Golders Green, London.
During the engagement celebration, the Rebbe encouraged singing and dancing, particularly a song with the Hasidic phrase 'Always Be Joyful,' which he hinted referred to the year 5787 (2026-2027). The Hasidic community is urging the public to continue praying for the complete recovery of the Rebbe, identified as Rabbi Yisrael, son of Leah Esther, among all the sick of Israel.
