Lucy Aharish Files Defamation Lawsuits Against Social Media Users

Television presenter Lucy Aharish has filed defamation lawsuits against three social media users for allegedly posting false, inciting, racist, and hateful content about her on Facebook, Instagram, and X. The first lawsuit, seeking 350,000 shekels, targets Tel Aviv resident Herzl Golan. According to the suit, Golan called Aharish a "terrorist," "Nazi terror supporter," and "Arab supporting the extermination of the Jewish people," and falsely attributed the future murder of Jews to her young son. The suit claims these posts aimed to humiliate Aharish due to racist motives, her non-Jewish identity, and her journalistic statements.

A second lawsuit, for 100,000 shekels, was filed against Tel Aviv resident Meir Zuberman. He allegedly called Aharish a "pathetic terrorist, a traitor to Israel" and told her to "move to Gaza," claiming she was an enemy, not a legitimate citizen. The suit states Zuberman ignored a warning letter demanding the removal of posts and an apology.

The third lawsuit, for 70,000 shekels, targets Meirav Weksler, a Haifa resident who works as an arbitrator, mediator, and rabbinical advocate. Aharish alleges Weksler called her a "terrorist supporter" in Instagram comments. After receiving a warning letter and a settlement offer of 12,000 shekels, Weksler removed the posts but refused to compensate Aharish. Weksler claims her comments were emotional responses in public discourse and that their removal demonstrated good faith and "good citizenship."

Aharish's attorney, Amit Mor, rejected these claims, emphasizing that the content indicated bad faith and that removing posts out of fear of a lawsuit does not constitute good citizenship. No defense statements have been filed yet.
