IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir Declares Israeli Army Most Moral in the World

Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), on Wednesday condemned efforts to discredit the Israeli military and its commanders. Speaking at a ceremony honoring donors to the Association for the Well-being of Israeli Soldiers, Zamir invoked a Talmudic principle, stating, "All members of Israel are responsible for one another," to illustrate individual responsibility for national security.

Zamir asserted that this principle is particularly relevant in the face of what he described as baseless lies and manipulation aimed at denigrating IDF soldiers and commanders. He urged a response to these accusations on all platforms, both domestically and internationally, emphasizing that "Tsahal is the most moral army in the world."

The IDF Chief of Staff defended the military's conduct during operations, particularly in response to attacks on civilian populations. He stated that despite deliberate attacks on Israeli citizens, a "barbaric invasion" targeting civilians, and missile fire towards population centers, the IDF remains committed to its values and international law.

Furthermore, Zamir assured that the Israeli military makes every effort to avoid harming innocent individuals during its operations.
