Naval Commandos Descend by Helicopter onto Building Roof in Southern Hebron
Elite Israeli naval commandos from Unit 13 were filmed rappelling from a helicopter onto the roof of a building in the Palestinian town of Yatta, south of Hebron, during an unusual operational activity late Wednesday night. The footage, which circulated on Arab social media, shows the soldiers being lowered directly onto the structure.
Simultaneously, a large contingent of Israeli military forces, including numerous armored vehicles, entered Yatta and secured the area as part of the operation. Initial reports from Arab media suggested the activity was a military drill.
However, an Israeli military source clarified that the commandos were engaged in an operational mission. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the operation took place but declined to provide further details, citing information security concerns. The IDF stated, "This was an operational activity by Unit 13 in southern Hebron. For information security reasons, we cannot elaborate further."
