Israeli Naval Commandos Descend by Helicopter in West Bank Operation
Elite Israeli naval commandos from Unit 13 descended by ropes from a helicopter onto the roof of a building in Yatta, south of Hebron, during a special operational activity in the southern Hebron hills on Wednesday night. Footage circulating from the city shows the soldiers being deployed from the air onto the structure.
Simultaneously, large numbers of Israeli military forces, including numerous armored vehicles, entered Yatta and secured the area. Initially, Arab media outlets suggested the operation was a military drill. However, a military source clarified that the naval commandos were engaged in an operational mission.
The IDF confirmed the activity, stating, "This is an operational activity by Unit 13 in the southern Hebron region. For information security reasons, no further details can be provided." Due to security restrictions, additional information regarding the mission's objective or the necessity of the elite unit's involvement has not been released.
