Ofer Rosenbaum Nears Deal to Acquire Majority Stake in Daniel Amram's Digital Media Operations
Ofer Rosenbaum is reportedly close to acquiring a controlling 60% stake in the digital media operations of Daniel Amram, a prominent independent online news creator. The deal is being discussed at a valuation of approximately 8 to 9 million shekels, which would mean Rosenbaum paying around 5 to 5.5 million shekels for his share. Previous reports had suggested a valuation of up to 10 million shekels, and the transaction is not yet finalized.
Amram has built a substantial distribution network without a traditional news website, studio, or large reporting staff. His main Telegram channel boasts nearly 650,000 subscribers, complemented by significant activity on TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube. While exact user numbers are difficult to aggregate due to audience overlap, his reach is considerable, with hundreds of thousands of followers across platforms like TikTok (around 375,000) and Instagram (over 300,000).
The value of Amram's network lies not only in its size but also in its audience engagement. Telegram allows direct access to hundreds of thousands of users, bypassing algorithmic dependence common on platforms like Instagram or Facebook. Amram's audience is accustomed to receiving daily updates, making his network a valuable asset for communication, campaign management, crisis response, and public influence.
Rosenbaum, who specializes in strategic consulting, crisis management, and campaigns, sees Amram's operation as a powerful tool for message dissemination and influence. However, a key concern is whether Amram's channels will maintain their perceived objectivity and authenticity after the acquisition by someone from the campaign and influence industry. A significant portion of Amram's influence stems from his independent image, and any shift perceived as compromising this could erode audience trust.
The deal also highlights the growing value of social media assets in Israel, with comparisons drawn to the sale of Israel Entertainment for an estimated 80 million shekels and an investment in PUSH at a 10 million shekel valuation. Amram's network, while large and loyal, is considered smaller and more dependent on its central figure compared to these other entities, impacting its overall valuation despite its substantial following.
