Lebanese Leaders Address Army Role, War Impact, and Reconstruction

Lebanese President Michel Aoun stated that the Lebanese army is fulfilling its duties, responding to what he described as Israeli allegations of its inadequacy. He asserted that claims of the army falling short in its responsibilities are untrue. Aoun also appealed to European nations to contribute to Lebanon's reconstruction efforts amidst the country's current challenges. Meanwhile, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri warned of the consequences of inaction on regional and international levels to halt the war Israel is waging on Lebanon. Berri conveyed these concerns during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi on Tuesday. The discussion focused on the developments of the ongoing war and the potential repercussions of its continuation. Berri stressed the necessity of regional and international action to cease hostilities, cautioning against the ramifications of failing to take such steps.
