IDF Unit 8200 Investigating Claims in Documentary 'Incidental Damage'

Professor Yuval Albashan revealed that the IDF's elite intelligence Unit 8200 is currently investigating the veracity of testimonies presented in the documentary film 'Incidental Damage.' Speaking on 'Galei Yisrael' radio with Professors Moshe Cohen Eliya and Dr. Yaakov Ben Shemesh, Alabashan stated that Unit 8200 is trying to determine if the individuals featured are indeed soldiers from the unit. He noted that it's possible they are soldiers but not in relevant capacities, or other scenarios are possible, emphasizing that the unit's findings are not yet known.

Albashan expressed significant skepticism regarding the content of the testimonies, calling some of the stories presented "illogical." He warned that if the interviewees are confirmed to be soldiers who were exposed to classified information and subsequently revealed operational methods, they could face severe consequences. These consequences could include criminal charges and violations of field security regulations.

The documentary has sparked considerable public and legal controversy. The film reportedly features former soldiers detailing alleged misconduct or controversial operations. The investigation by Unit 8200 aims to ascertain the facts behind these claims and the identities of those making them.
