Yahav Gorfinkel Eyed for Return to Maccabi Haifa After Cyprus Stint
Israeli left-back Yahav Gorfinkel is reportedly a candidate to rejoin Maccabi Haifa, the club where he began his youth career. The move comes after his official release from Cypriot club AEK Larnaca, where he spent half a season. AEK Larnaca announced the mutual termination of Gorfinkel's contract, thanking him for his contributions and wishing him success.
Gorfinkel, a product of Maccabi Haifa's youth academy, has had a varied career path. He was previously loaned to Hapoel Nazareth Illit, Hapoel Hadera, and Hapoel Haifa. His international experience includes stints with Norrköping in Sweden and a period with Chengdu. He also played two seasons for Hapoel Tel Aviv.
In January, Gorfinkel transferred to AEK Larnaca. Last season, he made six league appearances and two in the Conference League. This season, he played in two Conference League qualifying matches against Beitar Jerusalem.
If the move to Maccabi Haifa materializes, Gorfinkel would join as a free agent, potentially marking a return to his boyhood club.
