Man Indicted for Threatening Media Personality After Relationship Ends
An indictment has been filed against Odi Eilon for allegedly threatening a media personality after she sought to end their business and personal relationship. Eilon is accused of extortion, harassment, invasion of privacy, and other offenses. According to the indictment, Eilon began sending threatening messages to the woman via WhatsApp about two years into their relationship, when he became dissatisfied with the attention he received. He allegedly threatened to harm her livelihood and reputation.
Following these threats, the media personality refused to continue meeting with him and requested to end their connection. In response, Eilon allegedly escalated his harassment, sending more threatening messages, posting on social media, and repeatedly showing up at her workplaces. He reportedly threatened to meet with the CEO of the news company where she works and with her colleagues, intending to reveal details about her to force her to resume contact.
Among the messages attributed to Eilon are: "You have finished your career. I will go very far!! I am in not bad contact with very senior people at your work"; "I am going to be cruel on a level you haven't dreamed of"; "I can't live without you..."; and "all this is nothing compared to the revenge burning in me to avenge you for being stubborn and unwilling to open a new page...".
Due to his persistent threats, the media personality obtained a restraining order against Eilon, prohibiting him from harassing her or contacting her in any way. Eilon allegedly violated this order significantly. Following these violations, she filed a police complaint. Even then, he reportedly continued his actions, and during an interrogation with a police investigator present, he allegedly threatened her again, saying, "You don't know how dangerous I am," "You have reason to fear," and "I will continue to do what I want, I am not afraid of anyone, no one will tell me what to do."
