Sharon Gal's i24News Show Hits New Ratings High, Overtakes Kan 11
Sharon Gal's 7 PM news program on i24News Hebrew has achieved a new ratings record, securing fourth place and surpassing the public broadcaster Kan 11. The Hebrew-language channel, which recently marked two years since its launch, is showing consistent growth across several of its programs, though it has yet to reach the viewership numbers of established competitors like Channel 12 and Channel 13.
According to recent ratings data, Channel 12's evening news with Kerem Marciano led the 7 PM slot with an 8% rating and approximately 235,000 viewers. Raviv Drucker's "Zoref Bachira" followed with 5.1% and about 176,000 viewers. Channel 14's Yehuda Schlesinger secured third place with 4.1% and around 97,000 viewers.
Sharon Gal's program on i24News garnered a 3.4% rating, translating to about 75,000 viewers, placing it ahead of Kan 11's quiz show "Keveret," which had 1.3% and approximately 35,000 viewers. This rating represents a record high for i24News's 7 PM slot and continues a trend of consistent audience growth.
Looking at the past Hebrew year (Tashpa"t), "7-Sharon Gal" saw a 129% increase in its annual average rating, outperforming Kan 11 in some metrics. Other i24News programs also showed significant gains. "The Main Edition" with Miri Michaeli experienced an 86% rise in August viewership compared to the previous year and a 57% increase in its annual average between Tashpa"e and Tashpa"t. Weekend programs "Cabinet Friday" with Noa Dori rose 52% annually to secure second place with a peak of 5.4% viewership, while "Shabbat Magazine" with Michal Rabinovich jumped 67% annually.
