Jane Bordeaux Singer Denies Misconduct in Vilner Case

Doron Talmon, the lead singer of the Israeli band Jane Bordeaux, has broken her silence regarding accusations made against her by Naama Shahar, who had previously filed a sexual assault complaint against Yuval Vilner. Shahar claimed that Talmon shared a private message from her with Vilner, which included details about a personal diary.

In a statement posted on the band's Instagram account, Talmon refuted Shahar's claims, stating that the information published about her is "simply not true" and that the presented details are "partial and very biased." Talmon explained her initial silence was out of respect for those in pain, but she could no longer remain quiet. She added that due to respect and privacy, she would not reveal everything publicly but emphasized the inaccuracy of the reports concerning her.

Shahar had posted screenshots of alleged conversations between herself and Talmon, detailing how she approached the singer to share her story. Shahar claimed she offered to show Talmon her diary and correspondence from the period of the alleged assault, and that Talmon subsequently passed information from Shahar's message, including mention of the diary, to Vilner.

Talmon did not directly address the specific accusation of relaying the message to Vilner but broadly denied the publications about her. She reiterated her condemnation of violence against women and affirmed her lifelong commitment to women's rights. Talmon also mentioned facing severe backlash directed at herself and her daughters.

Last week, the Tel Aviv District Prosecutor's Office closed the investigation against Vilner, who was suspected of rape by Shi-Li Atari and Naama Shahar, citing insufficient evidence. Vilner's attorney welcomed the decision. Shi-Li Atari, however, criticized the closure, reaffirming her support for her complaint.
