Zionist Organization Expresses Concern Over "NezA" Film, Citing Danger to Jews

The World Zionist Organization has voiced deep concern regarding the film "NezA," which it claims presents a distorted and false portrayal of Israel and the actions of its forces. The organization warns that international exposure to the film could exacerbate the delegitimization campaign against Israel and fuel antisemitism.

In a statement released Tuesday, the World Zionist Organization called on cultural and media figures to act responsibly and refrain from amplifying claims that misrepresent Israel and the IDF's operations. They argue that when such narratives gain traction and legitimacy on the international cultural stage, they can be exploited by those seeking to delegitimize Israel.

Yaakov Hagoel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, condemned the film's "false accusations and slanderous claims," noting its recognition at the Venice Film Festival. "Behind every distortion of reality lies a real danger to Jews around the world," Hagoel stated, urging that cultural platforms not be used to spread propaganda, delegitimize, or incite hatred against Israel and the Jewish people.

Yifat Ovadia Lusky, head of the Department for Combating Antisemitism at the World Zionist Organization, also criticized the film. She described the depiction of the Gaza conflict, which she claims omits the events of October 7th, as a "severe distortion of reality and a grave moral confusion." Lusky emphasized that Hamas initiated the attack on Israel, and Israel's subsequent military operation was defensive. She cautioned that a misrepresented view of the war could extend beyond criticism of Israel to justifying hatred and even violence against Jews globally.
