IDF Chief of Staff Denounces Film 'NAZA' as Attack on Israel's Legitimacy

Israeli military chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has condemned the film "NAZA," calling it a "planned attempt to undermine the international legitimacy of the IDF and the State of Israel." Zamir convened a high-level meeting with top officers, including the Deputy Chief of Staff, head of operations, chief military prosecutor, commander of the air force, and the commander of Unit 8200, to discuss the film's release.

Zamir asserted that the Israeli military operates strictly within international law and ethical standards, making continuous efforts to prevent civilian harm. He claimed that the ratio of killed terrorists to uninvolved civilians in IDF operations is significantly lower than that of other world armies. He characterized the film's content as based on factual distortions and false accusations against soldiers and commanders, arguing it echoes the rhetoric of Israel's adversaries and endangers soldiers by misrepresenting legitimate military actions as illegal.

In response, the IDF plans a strong counter-effort using legal mechanisms, command measures, and public diplomacy tools. Zamir has ordered the creation of an interagency task force, led by the head of the Planning Directorate, to develop measures against false accusations in collaboration with international experts. The chief military prosecutor is tasked with exploring legal recourse against the film's creators.

Additionally, the military will investigate potential security breaches related to classified materials possibly used in the film's production. The IDF leadership is committed to utilizing all available resources to protect its soldiers and preserve the reputation of the armed forces.
