Journalist: 'Nezar' Film Unites Israelis Against False Accusations

Journalist Michael Shemesh of Kan Public Broadcasting suggested that a positive outcome has emerged from the controversy surrounding the film 'Nezar.' He stated that in recent times, certain segments of Israeli society were engaged in a competition to denigrate IDF soldiers, using harsh language against them. Shemesh believes the film, with its 'crazy blood libel' narrative, particularly in the aftermath of October 7th, has managed to unite almost all of Israeli society, from end to end, with only a few exceptions. The widespread condemnation was directed at the filmmakers and, more importantly, at the film's message and its implications.

Shemesh further commented that the film has highlighted a limit to the number of blood libels that can be falsely attributed to Israeli soldiers, who he described as heroes risking their lives to protect the remaining Jewish people. He added that this unity against the film's narrative has established a boundary for such accusations against the troops.

In a related, separate warning, Shemesh cautioned that without a specific, unnamed element, Prime Minister Netanyahu would not be able to secure a majority of 61 seats in the Knesset.
