Israeli Commandos Raid Hezbollah Cell During Karaoke Night in Lebanon

Israeli special forces from the Egoz unit conducted a deep-penetration raid into enemy territory in southern Lebanon, locating and engaging Hezbollah operatives during a karaoke night. The operation, which occurred early in the current military maneuvers, aimed to strike a concentration of terrorists and disengage. The unit advanced via a steep, unusual cliffside route to reach the target village.

According to Sergeant Major A., a soldier in the unit, the forces realized the enemy was unaware of their presence due to background sounds of people singing karaoke. "They didn't imagine the IDF could reach them at this stage of the maneuver," he stated. While some terrorists were celebrating and others on patrol, a small team was dispatched to a house down the street for a close-quarters engagement with an armed cell.

Sergeant Major R., another soldier, described the tense moments before opening fire. "We suddenly saw a light turn on in the building, and I'll never forget the moment I saw a person's shadow reflected on the door. My heart was pounding. I released the safety, squeezed the trigger hard, and we started taking down the building," he recounted. An aggressive battle ensued, during which the terrorists attempted to detonate explosives and fire anti-tank missiles at the Israeli forces.

The soldiers fought a determined and brief battle, eliminating numerous terrorists and disengaging in under 30 minutes without any Israeli casualties. Tanks provided cover for their withdrawal. Beyond the physical damage inflicted, the operation reportedly caused significant shock within the terrorist organization's ranks. Sergeant Major R. emphasized the psychological blow to Hezbollah, stating, "Its impact was mainly psychological on this entire Hezbollah array, which was on its home turf. And when they didn't expect it, we arrived as a very focused force and delivered a serious blow."
