Journalist Adva Dadon Warns Followers of Impersonation Scam
Israeli journalist Adva Dadon has alerted her social media followers to an impersonation scam targeting individuals online. Unknown actors are reportedly using her name to solicit people into joining a WhatsApp group, promising free professional advice on financial matters, retirement planning, and politics.
The fraudulent messages invite recipients to join a "free WhatsApp club" where they can supposedly receive expert guidance. The messages typically ask the recipient to reply "yes" to join. Dadon explicitly stated that these are imposters and urged her followers not to engage with the messages, join any groups, provide personal details, or click on any links sent.
She further requested that her followers help combat the scam by reporting the fraudulent profiles on Facebook and sharing the warning. Dadon concluded her announcement with a New Year's greeting to her followers.
