Hapoel Haifa Coach Confirms Striker Toureman Stays Through Season

Hapoel Haifa coach Haim Silvas has dismissed speculation that striker Alon Toureman might leave the club, stating he will remain with the team until at least the end of the current season. Toureman, who has been linked with a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, is considered a vital part of Hapoel Haifa's philosophy and plays a key role in the team's offensive strategy, according to Silvas.

Silvas made these remarks following Hapoel Haifa's first win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Bnei Sakhnin. All goals were scored in the first half. The coach acknowledged the team's inconsistent performance, noting a significant drop in play between halves and a need to address defensive lapses. Despite these issues, he praised the team's ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities against a Sakhnin defense that struggled to contain them.

Bnei Sakhnin's coach, Yossi Abukasis, expressed deep disappointment with his team's performance, particularly their defensive errors in the first half, which he described as the worst half he has coached. He admitted that Sakhnin deserved to lose and that the team needs time to gel after recent player acquisitions. Abukasis also addressed fan frustration, understanding their desire for better play and wins, but stressed the need to eliminate individual mistakes to improve.

Silvas also mentioned that club owner Yoav Katz has taken the necessary steps to ensure Toureman's commitment to the team for the remainder of the season, expressing hope that Toureman is happy despite the circumstances.
