Derby Tensions Flare: Dor Peretz and M'Bohli Exchange Heated Words
Tempers flared during the Tel Aviv derby on Monday evening, which saw Maccabi Tel Aviv secure a decisive 4-1 victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv. Just before halftime, Hapoel defender Dor Peretz accused Maccabi star Férnandinho M'Bohli of fouling him, prompting Peretz to lie down on the field for medical attention from Maccabi's staff.
After receiving treatment, M'Bohli approached Peretz as the latter was leaving the field. The two players exchanged angry words, gesturing animatedly with their heads close together. Hapoel's goalkeeper, Assaf Tzur, attempted to de-escalate the situation by pulling his teammate away from the confrontation.
Despite the exchange, the referee, David Foxman, issued a yellow card to M'Bohli for his involvement in the incident. The match concluded with Maccabi Tel Aviv's dominant win.
