Northern Israel Braces for Escalation Amidst Military Activity
Amid heightened alert and fears of escalation with Hezbollah, the Kiryat Shmona municipality issued an update to residents of the city and surrounding communities. This follows the Israeli military's destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge. The municipality warned of expected military activity in the area in the near future.
"Residents of Kiryat Shmona and the Galilee communities, IDF forces are expected to conduct military activity in the area in the coming minutes," the municipality's spokesperson stated. The announcement also clarified that "as a result, loud explosions will be heard in the area. This is proactive activity by our forces. We will update the public immediately if there is any change."
The alert comes as tensions remain high in the north, with concerns about potential retaliation from Hezbollah following the IDF's operation.
