Keren Hayesod Chairman Resigns After Just Six Weeks in Role

Eli Vered Hazan, the newly appointed chairman of Keren Hayesod, has announced his resignation from the position after serving for less than six weeks. In an internal letter to employees, Keren Hayesod CEO Edna Weinstein Gabai stated that Hazan decided to step down due to "further consideration" and "personal and family considerations." He will officially conclude his term at the end of December.

Hazan's appointment in early September followed prolonged power struggles within the organization. Initially, Prime Minister Netanyahu had considered Hazan as a candidate for the role, particularly if Ofir Akunis, another potential candidate, was not selected. Ultimately, Hazan's nomination was unanimously approved by Keren Hayesod's board, and he began a transition period to replace Sam Grundwerg, who had served as the global chairman for eight years.

The organization assured employees in the letter that operations would continue smoothly and that Keren Hayesod would remain focused on its objectives and tasks. The leadership stated they would work to ensure the stability and proper management of the organization during this transition.
