IDF Chief of Staff Slams 'NAZA' Film as Attack on Israel's Legitimacy

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has denounced the film "NAZA" as a calculated attempt to undermine the legitimacy of both the IDF and the State of Israel. Zamir convened a high-level meeting with top military brass, including Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Tamir Hayman and Military Advocate General Major General Itai Ofir, to discuss the film's release.

Zamir asserted that the film is based on factual distortions and false accusations against soldiers and commanders, echoing the rhetoric of Israel's adversaries. He emphasized that the IDF operates strictly within international law and ethical standards, striving to minimize civilian casualties and maintaining a lower ratio of terrorist fatalities to uninvolved civilians compared to other global armies. He characterized the film's content as a security threat, aiming to portray legitimate military actions as unlawful.

In response, the IDF leadership plans a robust counter-effort utilizing legal mechanisms, command measures, and public diplomacy. Zamir has ordered the establishment of an inter-agency task force, led by the head of the Planning Directorate, to develop strategies against false accusations in collaboration with international experts. The Military Advocate General is tasked with exploring legal recourse against the film's creators.

Additionally, the military will investigate potential security breaches related to classified materials allegedly used in the film's production. The IDF leadership is committed to deploying all available resources to protect its personnel and preserve the armed forces' reputation.
