Construction Work in Kiryat Gat Neighborhood Sparks Outrage on Rosh Hashanah

Heavy construction equipment was documented operating on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, a major Jewish holiday, during infrastructure work for a new Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) neighborhood in western Kiryat Gat. The incident occurred despite the holiday, which typically involves a cessation of work.

The 'Ma'arav' (West) administration, responsible for the project, stated that a subcontractor, who is not Jewish, carried out the work independently and without their knowledge or approval. They claim the subcontractor acted on their own initiative.

The documentation of the construction work during the holiday has caused significant anger and outrage among residents and the public, highlighting a perceived lack of respect for religious observances.
