Ondas Acquires Israeli Firm GATE Technologies for Up to $390 Million

Ondas Networks is expanding its defense sector acquisitions by purchasing Israel's GATE Technologies and its European manufacturing partner, Bron Technologies. The deal is valued at $205 million upfront, with potential additional payments of up to $185 million based on performance targets through the end of 2028, bringing the total potential value to approximately $390 million.

GATE Technologies, founded in 2006, specializes in electronic fuzes and Electronic Safe & Arm Devices, which are integrated into numerous weapon systems globally, including missiles, rockets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and loitering munitions. These systems ensure munitions remain safe during storage, transport, and launch, activating only when pre-defined conditions are met. This acquisition enhances Ondas' capabilities in precision strike components for unmanned platforms, complementing its existing work in autonomous systems, loitering munitions, propulsion, mission systems, communications, and software.

Ondas Chairman and CEO Eric Brock stated that GATE is a strategic addition, citing the growing demand for autonomous and precision strike systems and the increasing use of electronic fuzes. He indicated plans to invest in manufacturing capacity, engineering, and international expansion. Bron Technologies operates a manufacturing base in Poland, and both companies are establishing engineering, integration, certification, and manufacturing capabilities in the United States, with U.S.-made products expected to be available in the first half of 2027.

Oshri Lugasi, co-CEO of Ondas Autonomous Systems, highlighted that electronic fuzes are critical components in precision weapon systems and that GATE has built a significant market position. Ondas intends to improve support for existing customers and expand the company's operations both in Israel and globally. This acquisition follows a series of recent defense sector purchases by Ondas, including DZYNE Technologies, Cyberhawk, BIRD Aerosystems, Rotron Aerospace, World View, and Omnisys, as the company bolsters its autonomous and defense systems operations.

The company has been active in fundraising, securing approximately $1 billion earlier in the year. As of the end of the second quarter, Ondas held about $1.4 billion in cash, restricted cash, and short-term investments. In the second quarter, Ondas reported revenues of $83.8 million, a significant increase from $6.3 million in the same period last year, and raised its 2026 revenue forecast to between $525 million and $550 million. GATE's data suggests the global loitering munitions market is projected to grow from approximately $5.4 billion in 2025 to about $13.3 billion by 2030.
