Kibbutz Movement and Amal & Maavar Group Launch National Resilience Center
The Kibbutz Movement and the Amal & Maavar Group have partnered to establish a national center for resilience and fortitude, to be located in Ramat Ef'al. This joint initiative aims to bolster mental strength and provide psychological support, particularly for disabled IDF veterans and in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense. The need for such services has significantly increased since the start of the war three years ago, especially following the October 7th massacre and the subsequent multi-front, multi-year conflict.
The new center will feature a main campus for therapist training, day hospitalization units, mental health research facilities, and student dormitories that will collaborate with disabled veterans. The Sheba Medical Center and the Ramat Gan Municipality are expected to join the project, creating an ecosystem to address the growing national need. The Kibbutz Movement, which lost hundreds of members and their children on October 7th and has seen many fighters and commanders fall in the war, is spearheading the initiative. Many kibbutzim in the Gaza border and northern border areas were also evacuated.
Amal & Maavar Group brings extensive experience in personal and community resilience, having previously contracted with the state for suicide prevention, community support, processing workshops, and the 'Hibuki' project for treating children after trauma, which operates both domestically and internationally. Lior Simcha, Secretary-General of the Kibbutz Movement, stated that the movement, having experienced immense loss, is taking on the crucial task of establishing a national center to provide healing and mental fortitude to hundreds of thousands of Israelis. Dalia Korkin, CEO of Amal Group, expressed pride in contributing their expertise to this vital national effort, particularly for the well-being of disabled IDF veterans.
