Cleaning Influencer Cleans Synagogue for Rosh Hashanah
Cleaning influencer Linor Pahima undertook a special mitzvah (religious commandment) by cleaning a synagogue in honor of Rosh Hashanah. She shared her experience with her hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, describing the feeling as "beyond nature."
Pahima explained that she was motivated to clean the synagogue after visiting it with her children on Shabbat and being horrified by its state, noting it hadn't been cleaned in years. She decided to take action on the eve of the holiday, bringing her cleaning supplies and working diligently despite the lack of air conditioning.
She described the profound emotional and spiritual uplift she experienced, stating, "My soul is alight." Pahima also mentioned using the opportunity to pray and express gratitude while she was alone in the empty synagogue. She later shared a message from a follower who visited the synagogue during the holiday and commented on how pleasant and clean it was, a sentiment that deeply moved Pahima.
Pahima indicated that many women have reached out, expressing a desire to join her in similar acts of service in the future. She plans to share opportunities for others to participate, emphasizing that her motivation was solely for the sanctification of God's name ('kiddush Hashem').
