Singer Uri Segal Releases New Song Expressing Longing for Uman Rosh Hashanah

Singer Uri Segal has released his debut single, titled 'Uman,' a song expressing a deep yearning to visit the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov in Uman, Ukraine, for Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year).

Segal, who feels Rabbi Nachman has personally saved his life, stated that the song was born from his personal longing and his desire to express his profound connection to the rabbi. He described the project as a "gift" to the Breslov Hasidic community, especially relevant as thousands of Breslov followers prepare for the annual pilgrimage to Uman, with many currently unable to attend due to various obstacles.

"After heavenly obstacles and delays, I am happy and excited to be a messenger of our Father in Heaven and to release my debut song," Segal said. He hopes the song will serve as a collective prayer for those who wish to go to Uman but are prevented from doing so, praying that they will merit to join the pilgrimage.

The musical arrangement for 'Uman' was done by Shlomi Levi, with mixing by Yanki Cohen, aiming to preserve the Hasidic authenticity while ensuring high production quality. The overall production was handled by Moishe Whitman and Menatzeachim BaMusica, with cover art by Avi Berman.

The release comes amid a wave of new musical works from other Jewish artists in anticipation of the High Holy Days, including releases from Ishay Ribo, Zusha, Mendi Fortnoy, and Meir Nusnzwieg. Segal concluded his message with a prayer for complete redemption, emphasizing unity and brotherhood.
