Court Considers House Arrest for Mother of Murder Suspect

Jerusalem's District Court is considering releasing Linor Shoshon, mother of the main suspect in the murder of Benayahu Razi, to house arrest. Shoshon, who has a prior criminal record including fraud, threats, and extortion, was recently released from prison. Her husband is also a convicted felon who previously escaped from prison and shot at police officers.

Prosecutors argue that Shoshon's past indicates she cannot be trusted and that she may continue to orchestrate crimes even from afar. The victim's family lawyer echoed these concerns, emphasizing her alleged role in helping her son and others evade capture after the murder and instructing them on how to flee Jerusalem. The court's decision is expected later today.

During a hearing, a heated exchange occurred between Razi's mother and the family of another suspect, with one individual shouting at Razi's mother to "shut your mouth." Razi's mother expressed her grief and determination to be her son's voice, criticizing the suspect's family for their behavior and alleged involvement in the murder.

According to the indictment, the murder stemmed from an argument that escalated after two women, Agam Tzurfi and Shilat Huta, invited Razi and another man, Matania, to a rented apartment. After an alleged dispute, the women went to Shoshon's apartment, where, investigators claim, an armed group was assembled. Tzurfi reportedly admitted that Razi was struck with a hammer and an iron bar, while Huta filmed the event. Investigators also revealed that Tzurfi, during her interrogation, allegedly spoke about planning her next murder if she were not in custody, showing no remorse.
