Wife of Suspect in Gangland Murder Arrested Again
Investigators in the Tel Aviv Major Crimes Unit have re-arrested the wife of a suspect in the murder of Ahmed Katwan, a member of the Hariri crime family. She was initially arrested shortly after the incident but was later released. Her renewed arrest is on suspicion of aiding and abetting after the fact, obstructing justice, and concealing evidence. During questioning, she invoked her right to remain silent.
The police requested an extension of her detention for 15 days, but the court ordered her release to house arrest. The police have filed a stay of execution to appeal this decision.
The murder is part of an ongoing conflict within the criminal underworld, with the Hariri family reportedly suspected of supplying grenades to the rival Mousli and Jarushi families.
