Son of Crime Boss Indicted for Plotting Grenade Transfer

Tel Aviv District Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against three individuals, including the 21-year-old son of a prominent crime boss, for allegedly plotting to transfer fragmentation grenades. Ahmed Hariri, son of the Hariri crime family leader, along with Yakir Maimoni, 36, and Robert Abdilov, 35, are accused of conspiring to move two fragmentation grenades from Hariri to Maimoni via Abdilov.

The indictment details a series of events that occurred on August 4th. Maimoni allegedly met Abdilov in Tel Aviv, giving him a SIM card to coordinate with Hariri. Later that evening, Hariri reportedly met Abdilov in the Ara'ara area and handed over two fragmentation grenades intended for Maimoni. Abdilov was apprehended by police on Highway 6 with the grenades in his possession.

Further investigation led to the discovery of two semi-automatic pistols, ammunition, and two additional fragmentation grenades in a laundry room near Maimoni's Tel Aviv apartment on August 16th. Maimoni was subsequently arrested. Hariri was arrested three days later, on August 19th, and is accused of being the one who supplied Abdilov with the initial grenades.

All three defendants face charges of illegal possession and carrying of weapons, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Maimoni faces an additional charge for the weapons and grenades found near his residence. The prosecution has requested that all three be held in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

While the indictment does not directly link the three to the recent "Jafnika" incidents, where grenades were thrown and branches of a restaurant chain were set ablaze amid a conflict between the Musli and Jarushi crime families, sources indicate that police view this case as connected to the ongoing investigation into those attacks.
